The Story Behind the Portrait

This portrait was commissioned by Liz and Steve as a gift for their friends Ruth and Joss Carroll. They surprised them with one of our gift vouchers, and once received, Ruth and Joss sent us some lovely photos of Sam and Scooby to work from. Nicholas used individual images to compose the dogs side by side, making it appear as if they were photographed together in their garden.

The painting was created at 16 x 12 inches in oils on fine linen canvas and later framed locally in a traditional wooden frame. Ruth was so thrilled with the painting, she called us the moment it arrived to share her excitement – a truly lovely moment for us.
